Regions Field Continues to Capture Birmingham’s Attention

Last year, Regions Field was named Ballpark of the Year by ballparks.com and we couldn’t have been prouder. One year later, the downtown ball park continues to hold the attention of Birmingham residents.

The Barons kicked off this season with a home game against the Chicago White Sox. The game was watched by the largest crowd in this year-old ballparks history. The buzz around Regions Field only grew following the late March opener.

The Barons are putting butts in seats. Regions Field continues to fill up regularly with no signs of slowing. The opening home series drew in over 35,000 Barons fans over a three game stretch. That’s 5,000 more people than the first opening series at Regions Field. It’s even more than the first time Michael Jordan suited up at the Hoover Met.

Last year the Baron’s won the Southern League Championship on the field but that wasn’t the only title the team captured. Regions Field led the Southern League in attendance as well. With an average attendance of over 7,000 this season, the Barons are well on their way to leading the league again.

We are proud to call the Birmingham Barons our hometown team and proud of our customers who helped make this ballpark a success. We were privileged to be a part of the opening of this great ball park and we look forward to continued involvement.
