Wide format digital printers have changed the way we look at digital wall décor. If you want to put the New York skyline on your office wall or a full sized junglescape in your children’s room, wide format digital printing makes that possible. Last week we were lucky enough to have representatives from Hewlett-Packard in our office to show us just how many options digital wall décor has to offer.
There are four different ways to install digital wall graphics and all of them leave your wall unharmed. A majority of these installs are done with a simple paste but there are several other options that may better fit your needs.
- Applying a paste directly to the wall is the most common way to install digital wall décor. It will not damage the wall but it does make a little more mess than other methods.
- Wall graphics can be purchased with a paste adhesive already attached. All you need to install is a sponge and some water. You don’t even have to wet the wall. Align your graphic in the spot you prefer and simply wipe it down to adhere it to your wall. When you’re ready to remove the graphic, simply wet it again to release the adhesive.
- Self-adhesive stickers are also available. Simply remove the backing and position the graphic. This option is not as easy to reposition once in place and is not easily reused after a long period of time.
- Magnetic installation is the final option. This is the most versatile method. The print itself has a magnetic backing that will adhere to any metal surface. It can also be applied to a wall with a ferrous based paint. The powerful magnets allow you to stack several different graphics on top of each other. Hospitals are using these graphics to quickly and easily customize a room to make a patient more comfortable.
