The Fourth of July is a time for the community to come together and celebrate. Extravagant fireworks shows celebrating our Nation’s independence is what the Fourth is all about. We hope you’ve gotten the signage for your Fourth of July event done, but if you’re not hosting your own event this year, we’d be happy to make a couple of suggestions on where to find the best celebrations in Alabama.
The biggest event near our headquarters in Birmingham is Thunder on the Mountain. Thunder on the Mountain has been a Birmingham tradition for decades. Families and friends come out to Vulcan Park to watch the fireworks light up the ENTIRE Birmingham sky. These fireworks can be seen for miles, and it is truly a sight to see!
With Regions Field now open, this year may be the start of a new tradition. The Birmingham Barons announced that on July 4th the game will start at 6:00 instead of 6:30 to accommodate the Thunder on the Mountain fireworks show. Fans will be able to stay after the game to view the show from their stadium seats. With such a great view of the fireworks, there’s no reason the fans should not take advantage of this opportunity!
At our second location in Montgomery, there are some amazing shows to watch out for too. The City of Montgomery holds a Fourth of July celebration every year at the Riverwalk Amphitheater. Families come out to picnic at Riverfront Park, and enjoy music and activities until the firework show starts at 9 p.m.
