The cold sting of an IV needle, intense medical regimens and hospital stays are the norm for too many children across Alabama, but thanks to 66 teams of experienced hunters and first-time shooters at the eighth annual Children’s Harbor and Magic Moments Sporting Clay Shoot, these youngsters can forget their diagnosis and enjoy being a child again.
Almost $100,000 was raised to benefit Alabama children through two local charities – Magic Moments, the only wish-granting organization dedicated exclusively to Alabama children, and Children’s Harbor, which provides camping and adventure services to children with long-term serious illness and their families.
Lauri Newton, Alabama Graphics account executive, helped organize this year’s event held at Selwood Farm in Alpine, Alabama, on Sept. 28. “The Children’s Harbor/Magic Moments Sporting Clay Shoot has made it possible for children who are suffering from so much at an early age to forget about the trials they face daily and experience a once-in-a-lifetime gift. Through this event, our supporters enjoy a great day on an exciting course while helping our state’s most critically-ill children,” Lauri said.
We’re proud of Lauri for supporting such a worthwhile cause for children around our state!
