In 2015 Birmingham, AL was slated to host the 2021 World Games, which unfortunately had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Thankfully for the competitors and fans, the dates have been moved to next year, July 7-17, 2022.
The World Games take place every four years, the year following each Olympic Summer Games, and features 3,600 athletes from more than 100 countries competing for a gold medal in more than 180 events. Held under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee, The World Games are a part of the Olympic family and subscribe to the same values, but the events of The World Games are ones not included in the Olympics. The World Games also differ in the fact that the host city is never required to build facilities or extend upon infrastructures solely for the sake of The World Games.
In preparation for the World Games, Alabama Graphics created a frosted acrylic sign and wall signage for the World Games Office in Birmingham. We took the World Games logo elements and created, printed and installed signs in their conference room, reception area and front doors. We also printed a softball banner for use in the World Games.
Birmingham is excited to finally start the countdown to the 2022 World Games and Alabama Graphics is honored that we were able to do our part.
