Alabama Graphics is excited to welcome Matthew Whaley to the team as Color/Wide Format Production Manager!
Matthew has been with us since October 2017, but previously was the Production Manger at a local sign company
We asked Matthew what a typical day looks like in his role as Color/Wide Format Production Manager.
“Every morning I come in and examine what was accomplished the day before and what still needs to be done. I then organize the workflow and meet with my team to discuss the workload for the day, the highest priorities, jobs that require a high level of attention to detail, and where each team member can best serve the company. I typically spend the second half of my morning designing/ setting up files for print – this includes extremely detailed design work and simple tasks such as setting up cut files for jobs that require custom cuts. Throughout the day, as jobs are finished, I will examine them for quality control. Sometimes I will need to coordinate and assist with installations for some of the graphics we produce. Whether it’s vinyl applications, acrylic or polymetal boards, ALGX provides full service professional installations. Additionally, I make sure our supplies department is aware of incoming jobs and the material each job will require. I will also help create estimates for jobs that are a higher volume than usual. Basically, if it has anything to do with Wide Format Print Production, I’m hands on and involved.”
Outside of work you will find Matthew playing disc golf, going to the movies with his wife, or on stage! He is Chairman of the Board for Theatre Downtown and performs in multiple shows a year. His next will be “Tartuffe,” get your tickets!
