American Institute of Architects Launches Look Up Campaign

AIAOn Sunday, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) began running commercials for its three year-long public awareness campaign called “Look Up!” The organization is encouraging people to look up and view the world through the eyes of an architect and take on a new appreciation for the contributions that they make to our daily lives.

At ALGX, we’re extremely excited about this campaign that’s seeking to raise awareness about the profession and understand just how much it impacts all of us every single day.

We feel that the messages that AIA is working to convey are extremely important, and we’re happy to give them our full support on their new initiative.

Some of the key messages include:

  • Architects play a vital role in the everyday lives of all people.
  • Architects’ unique perspective and approach to their work inspires us all.
  • Architects shape the identity of spaces and places.
  • Architects are an accessible resource for all people, no matter their circumstance, location, or financial situation.
  • Look up and be inspired by the architecture that surrounds you and the architects who designed it.

Along with AIA, we’d love for you to get involved in the campaign by sharing on social media the architecture that inspires you and tagging it with the hashtag #ilookup and #AIA.  It’s not just about looking up to skyscrapers and monuments, but all architecture that surrounds you.

We’re looking forward to participating and staying updated on this new initiative, and we hope that you’ll join with us to help spread the messages of this campaign.
