Recently ALGX helped out with an event in downtown Montgomery called PARK(ing) Day 2014.
Architecture for Humanity’s Montgomery Chapter, along with the Downtown Montgomery Business Association, came together to create this pop-up park. To help out, we donated the corrugated tubing that was used to create the space.
The purpose of the event was not only to encourage people to spend some time out of their office and meet other members of the community; but also, According to the Montgomery Advertiser, “to advocate for more public space in the city as well as to raise awareness of the available public parking in the downtown area.”
It was a lot of fun being a part of this community event, and we loved the fact that everyone was welcome, including their family and pets!
