Project Spotlight: Alabama Sports Hall of Fame

Since 1967, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame (ASHOF) has been dedicated to the celebration and preservation of Alabama’s rich sports history and tradition. Recently, Alabama Graphics Account Executives Lauri Newton and Carrie Evans had the privilege of working with the ASHOF to design and install graphics to honor the ASHOF’s Class of 2016 inductees. After presenting ASHOF with a few design concepts, the museum decided to cover 90-inch diameter columns with .020 Styrene panels featuring photos of the inductees. Continue reading →

Project Spotlight: Birmingham Barons Graphics

As a locally-owned company, we’re always rooting for our home team, and this baseball season we’re excited to support the Birmingham Barons. The minor league baseball team has been a staple in the Birmingham community since 1985 and is the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

Over the years, the Barons have gone through a lot of changes. In 1887, the team played most of its games at Slag Pile Field, located on 6th Street between 1st Avenue North and the Alabama Great Southern Railroad tracks. Birmingham millionaire industrialist, A. H. “Rick” Woodward, purchased the Barons in February 1910 with aims to construct a new ballpark. Construction of Rickwood Field, the first concrete-and-steel ball park in the minor leagues, was completed prior to the first game played there on August 18, 1910. Continue reading →

Project Spotlight: Canvas Collaboration with Bama Painting for the University of North Alabama

Last year, Alabama Graphics partnered with Bama Painting, a painting contractor located in Trussville, Alabama, to create wall graphics for Southern Union Community College. Recently, we were able to collaborate with Bama Painting for a second time to create custom-made canvases for the University of North Alabama (UNA).

To spruce up the walls of its activity center, UNA needed to cover some louvered panels, so they turned to Bama Painting and Alabama Graphics for a solution. After presenting several different design concepts, UNA decided to go with large canvases featuring the university’s lion mascots—Una and Leo III. Continue reading →

FAQ: How to Prepare Your Space for Printer Installation

At Alabama Graphics, we’re constantly searching for ways to improve our services. We strive to provide our customers with top-of-the-line equipment, as well as thorough equipment installation, supplies and maintenance.

To prevent any printer installation issues, our service technicians conduct a pre-install site survey to be sure the site is ready for the machine placement. During the site survey, we determine that there is adequate space for the printer, that the correct electrical plugs and network drops are available, and that there is enough space to get the printer into the building. Customers can help streamline this process by verifying their site has the correct electrical plugs and network plugs.
